Natural Fibers

Summer is here! NYC gets very humid and sticky in the summer. One of the my tips to cope with the humidity is to wear natural fibers; I’m talking silk, cotton, and linen for summer and NOT polyester, acetate, cupros, etc. Here’s why…
1. It’s breathable and keeps you cool under the heat of the sun
2. It won’t smell when it interacts with your sweat. I hate the smell of polyester when you’re sweating on it!
3. There is a misconception about the care of natural fibers. You can definitely machine wash cotton and linen just be sure to hang dry some of more delicate items. The same goes for silk; I will definitely machine wash simple items like a plain silk blouse or top. Invest in a steamer for these fabrics (which you can find easily at Costco)
