Like I’m sure most of us do, I have a fashion wish list. And on the list is a pair of Gucci loafers, preferably black patent leather ones. January is the best time to go shopping because most shops will have sales. My favorite thing to do is to visit Barneys, Bergdorfs, and Saks. You will be surprised that at Barneys and Bergdorfs you will always find Louboutins and Chanel shoes on sale among others.
Last season I spotted the Gucci loafers at Saks on sale but they were yellow so I decided against them. So this time I had a feeling that they might have some. I spotted a black patent leather Gucci loafer on the sale rack in my size but it did not have the reduced price on it. So I asked an associate and of course he said no just by looking at it. I was persistent and asked another associate and asked him to scan it. (Insert ‘Hallelujah’ song here) It was on sale! 60% off! He brought the other half and of course it fit me perfectly. It was like walking on clouds.
The Gucci loafers have been a classic since it was launched in 1953. When the sale god puts a Gucci horse bit loafer on sale rack in black patent leather in your size at 60% off, are you going to be able to walk away? (That’s obviously a rhetorical question because we all know the answer)
