Travel Diary: San Fransisco

My last final exam was on December 21 and the minute I was done with my exam at 6pm I was on my way to JFK heading to San Fransisco while my friends were already there because they had started earlier.

I was so proud of myself because for this 4- day trip I had one carry on (only) and a big tote for all y stuff. That would never happen before! I planned my outfits earlier and had decided to stick to black and white pieces combined with some beige. I limited myself to two handbags (the Balenciaga crossbody and Chanel burgundy mini square) and two clutches which I used for my toiletries and chargers when I packed. I had three boots: a tan Helmut Lang with low heels, one blue Proenza Schouler high heeled booties, and a pair of Chanel flats (which I only wore to walk around the hotel).

I arrived in San Fransisco at 2 am the next day and was still so energized because I slept the whole way through and was on New York time which is three hours ahead. I decided to complete my final assignment for Photographic styling class and went to bed ’til 11 am.

The first day started with dim sum for lunch in Chinatown at a restaurant which I can’t remember the name of but it had Obama’s pictures plastered on the window when he ate there. We figured it would be good and it was!

The next destination was Lombard street and boy it was quite a hike! It reminded me of a scene from The Sweetest Thing when Cameron Diaz was huffing and puffing walking home from her office.

We also went to the famous Irish coffee spot near Fisherman’s Wharf. And the night continued to Castro after a delicious Peruvian meal. It was a lot of fun!
It was such a fun trip and San Fransisco is such a beautiful city! I love a vaca that’s not restricted with schedules, none of us really cared about doing the touristy stuff. Everyday we did whatever we felt like it and we ate so much good food.

If I could give one tip though, don’t cross the bridge! The view is better from the San Fransisco side. We were stuck in traffic for over an hour trying to cross to Sausalito and the view was not that great because we were too close to the bridge.
